We are delighted to welcome Christa Mackinnon back to Conscious Cafe. Christa will offer a talk, followed by an interactive discussion, about the art of thriving in times of profound uncertainty, chaos and transformation.
She will combine her knowledge of the human psyche, her insights into evolutionary processes and her teachings of shamanic wisdom traditions to look at the stages of transformational cycles and offer practical ways of how to thrive within them.
Her talk will address the human being as part of a collective, both swaying innately between holding on to the known and safe and the need for evolutionary birth of the new within the process of collective Becoming. The focus will be on the challenges and potentials of the current phase within that process.
The talk will include:
Understanding the phases of change and transformation
Acknowledging our current crisis as a state of peril and potential
How to walk a path of uncertainty and challenges
How to find nurturing containers during the process
Christa is a Social Psychologist (MSc), family counsellor, hypnotherapist, shamanic teacher, ecological activist and best-selling author. Working internationally as a psychologist, trainer and university lecturer, she specialised in complex trauma, which formed the basis for her expertise in the human psyche and the functioning of the human mind.
Her fascination with the capacities of the human mind and consciousness led her to explore spiritual teachings, living in Ashrams in Asia and apprenticing to Shamans in the Americas. Christa now combines her knowledge of the contemporary psychological with ancient shamanic teachings, a subject she speaks, writes, trains and lectures widely about.
Christa is the author of the best-selling book ‘Shamanism: Awaken and Develop the Shamanic Force Within’ (Hay House); the ground breaking book ‘Shamanism and Spirituality in Therapeutic Practice’ (Jessica Kingsley Publishers) and ‘Shamanism: Spiritual Growth, Healing, Consciousness’ (Flametree). She is the founder of ‘Bridging the Worlds’, the co-founder of Women Weaving Change’ a Modern Medicine Women training school and is active in the Women’s and Ecological movement
