Canterbury: Poetry to Get Us Through

18 August 2020 @ 8:00 pm - 9:30 pm
£5.00

Poetry and expressive writing can help us find solace, challenge, beauty, and meaning, especially during difficult times. In this workshop, Victoria Field will introduce some poems and invite you to try some writing in response. No experience is necessary and you do not have to share your writing if you prefer not to. We will particularly look at how we can use poems, our own and those written by others, to process our experience of the recent lockdown. Please come with your camera on and with paper and something to write with.

Victoria Field trained in Biblio-Poetry Therapy with the International Federation for Biblio-Poetry Therapy where she is also a Mentor-Supervisor. She is a teacher, facilitator and a published writer in many genres. She is a sessional lecturer and also researching a PhD at Canterbury Christ Church University. Her most recent books are a collection of poetry A Speech of Birds and a memoir Baggage: A Book of Leavings – both from www.francisboutle.co.uk
