** Please note this event is rescheduled for Wednesday February 22nd 2023 due to our speaker being unable to join us**
Join our Canterbury group for a discussion about pain. Why do so many people in the West suffer from chronic pain? What role do the mind and emotions play in our individual experience of pain? By understanding pain and its role perhaps we can learn how to control pain without the use of drugs.
Ben Sims will discuss issues surrounding pain from his experience as a physiotherapist. He has worked as a physiotherapist for 14 years working primarily in the NHS treating patients with Chronic musculoskeletal conditions. He has also worked in Saudi Arabia and practised medico legal work for patients with spinal cord and brain injuries.
Ben has further training in joint injections, acupuncture, CBT, leadership, advanced communication and enjoys exploring spirituality and philosophy. He also has a particular interest in the impact of childhood and adult trauma on illness and disease as well as the impact of psychosocial factors on physical pain.
This promises to be a lively and informative evening.
