In a world that constantly urges us to strive and improve, and an expectation that we should all be able to find happiness, contentment can feel almost radical and lazy. However, this quieter emotion is often underrated, and research is revealing that it has the power to soften our days and keep us grounded. This month we will be exploring the art of contentment and how to acquire it, sharing the latest research findings on this gentle strength. You might be surprised by the benefits that contentment brings. Join this ConsciousCafe Geneva conversation on this calm emotion that is often overlooked.
Debbie will be at Café de la Place to greet you from 6.15pm. To find the Café walk through the rear of Gare Cornavin and turn left. The Café is on your right on the corner of Rue des Grottes.
Please sign up on consciouscafegeneva@gmail.com or Meetup to attend, thank you.
Friday, June 5 | 10:30 AM - 12:30 PM
Because so many of us can feel overwhelmed by the constant stream of global news, it’s natural to experience anger, grief, or even hopelessness when confronted with conflict and suffering. At times, we may shut down emotionally simply to cope, only to feel guilty afterward.
So how can we stay engaged without being consumed by distress? How do we maintain our humanity while protecting our wellbeing? And importantly, what meaningful role can we ourselves play in a world facing such immense challenges.
The event will be followed by complimentary light food and drinks provided by the generous host in Grens, Suellen. To join Debbie and Suellen to discuss constructive ways to meet a world in turmoil with awareness, compassion and resilience please sign up on consciouscafegeneva@gmail.com
